Why Genuine Apple Screens Matter
We are one of the few repair shops in the area that uses genuine Apple screens for iPhone screen replacements, not aftermarket copies.
This is the part most customers don’t know to ask about until something goes wrong. Aftermarket iPhone screens look fine on the shelf, but once they’re installed, the differences show up fast:
- Touch response feels off. Aftermarket screens are not as responsive as genuine Apple displays. You’ll notice it when typing, scrolling, or playing games. Taps register late or miss entirely.
- Color and brightness drift from the original. Whites can look slightly yellow or blue, and color accuracy is noticeably worse than a factory display.
- Battery drains faster. Aftermarket screens force the battery to work harder to drive the display, which means your phone dies quicker and the battery runs hot. Over time, that extra heat shortens battery life and can cause swelling.

Repair Times and What to Expect
Most iPhone repairs are completed within 30 minutes when the part is in stock. That covers the majority of screen replacements, battery replacements, and charging port repairs on common models.
Repairs that take longer:
- Back glass replacement: Around 1 to 2 hours due to the laser separation process.
- Water damage diagnostics and board-level work: Timing depends on what's found.

Before you come in:
- Back up your phone if it's still functional. We do everything we can to preserve your data, but a backup is always the safest option.
- Bring the phone, the charger if you have it, and any case or accessory that might be relevant to the repair.
- Know your Apple ID password. Some repairs require it for verification.

Will a screen repair affect Face ID or True Tone?
With genuine Apple screens installed correctly, Face ID and True Tone continue to function. Aftermarket screens often break True Tone and can interfere with Face ID, which is another reason we stick with genuine parts.
Is my data safe during repair?
For screen, battery, charging port, and most external repairs, your data is not touched. We don’t access your photos, messages, or accounts. For water damage or board-level repairs, we always recommend backing up first because deeper repairs can occasionally affect storage.
Do you offer mail-in repair?
Yes. If you’re not in Albuquerque, we accept mail-in iPhone repairs. Contact us first so we can walk you through how to ship the phone safely and what to expect.
What if my iPhone can't be repaired?
We’ll tell you. If a repair isn’t worth the cost or isn’t possible, we’ll explain why and you won’t be charged for the diagnostic. We’d rather lose a job than sell you a repair that doesn’t make sense.
How long does a screen replacement take?
For most newer iPhones with parts in stock, around 30 minutes. You can wait in shop or come back when it’s done.
Do you fix water-damaged iPhones?
Yes. Water damage repair depends on how much liquid got in, how long it sat, and what was affected. Bring it in as soon as possible for the best chance of recovery.
