Our Repair Warranty Policy

When you get a repair done at ABQ Phone Repair & Accessories, the work is backed by a clear warranty. Lifetime coverage on screen replacements. 30-day coverage on batteries, charging ports, and other small parts. Here’s exactly what that means.

Lifetime Warranty on Screen Replacements

Every screen we replace on phones, iPads, and tablets comes with a lifetime warranty. If something goes wrong with the replacement screen that isn’t caused by new physical damage, we fix it for free. No time limit.

What's Covered

If your replacement screen shows any of the following problems, the warranty covers a free repair:

Phones that originally shipped with LCD screens were designed around these tradeoffs. An LCD replacement on an LCD phone is the right call.

What's Not Covered

The lifetime warranty does not cover damage caused by use or accident after the repair. Specifically:

If your screen has any of these issues, it’s no longer covered under the lifetime warranty. We can still repair the device, just as a paid repair rather than a warranty claim.

How to Use the Warranty

To claim the warranty, you need to:

Bring the device into the shop in person

Warranty claims require us to inspect the device directly. We can't process warranty claims by phone or email.

Be present at the store with the device

The customer who got the original repair (or someone authorized) needs to be there with the device.

if you have it. A receipt, invoice, or email confirmation helps us look up the original repair quickly. If you don't have a receipt, we can usually find your record in our system using the device or your contact info.

30-Day Warranty on Batteries and Small Parts

Replacement batteries, charging ports, and other small components come with a 30-day warranty.

What's Covered

For 30 days after the repair, if the replacement part fails due to a manufacturing defect or workmanship issue, we replace it for free. This includes:

What's Not Covered

The 30-day warranty does not cover:

How to Use the 30-Day Warranty

Same process as the screen warranty. Bring the device into the shop in person, bring your receipt or contact info,
and we’ll diagnose and fix the issue if it’s covered.

Repairs Without Warranty

Some repairs are not covered by warranty due to the nature of the work. These include:

Water damage can keep causing problems long after the initial repair due to internal corrosion that’s hard to fully eliminate. We do everything we can to clean and restore water-damaged devices, but we can’t guarantee long-term function.

If you bring your own parts for us to install, we warranty our labor but not the parts themselves.

A free diagnostic that doesn’t result in a repair doesn’t carry a warranty since no repair work was done.

We’ll always tell you upfront before the repair starts whether the work is warranty-eligible or not.

What About Mail-In Repairs

Mail-in repairs come with the same warranty terms as in-shop repairs. The only difference is the warranty claim process:

Frequently Asked Warranty Questions

The screen you installed cracked. Is it covered?

Unfortunately no. Cracks, breaks, and physical damage are not covered by the lifetime warranty, even on a replacement screen. We can still repair it, just as a paid repair.

Yes. Touch issues that aren’t caused by physical damage are covered for life on screen replacements. Bring it in.

No. Colored lines or black spots usually indicate damage to the LCD or OLED panel underneath the glass, which happens from impact damage. The warranty doesn’t cover impact damage even when the front glass looks intact.

Usually yes. We keep repair records in our system. Bring the device and any contact info you used when you originally came in, and we can look it up.

We prefer the original customer to be present, but if someone else brings it in with proper authorization and the receipt or repair info, we can usually handle it. Call us beforehand to confirm.

Battery capacity loss over time is normal and not covered. The 30-day warranty covers complete failure or manufacturing defects, not gradual capacity decline.

If it’s within 30 days, yes, bring it in. If it’s been longer than 30 days, the warranty has expired, but bring it in anyway. Sometimes the issue is a different component, and if it’s something we caused, we’ll make it right.

The warranty is tied to the repair and the device, not the owner. If you sell the phone, the new owner can use the warranty as long as they have the device, the original repair info, and they’re aware they’re using a transferred warranty. Call us first if you’re not sure.

No. We only warranty repairs we performed. If you had a repair done elsewhere and the screen is failing, you’d need to take it back to the original shop, or pay for a new repair from us.
